GFI Informatique appoints Pierre Chiarelli
as International Head of Software Solutions

Pierre Chiarelli, head of GFI Solutions, has been appointed International Head of GFI Informatique’s Software Editor Division

Pierre Chiarelli, 57, a graduate in business management from IAE Montpellier, began his career with Charbonnage de France Informatique where he was rapidly given responsibility for the Research and Development department. In 1995, he was one of the founding members of GFI Informatique alongside Jacques Tordjman. Since then, he has held various senior management posts within the group. He has had global responsibility for the Solutions division in France since the company was created and sets the general guidelines for the group’s software editor activity. He is a member of the Executive Committee.

Pierre Chiarelli’s mission covers several areas :

• At sales level, he will be responsible for strengthening the position of GFI Informatique’s software solutions in Europe and the rest of the world.
• At the technical level, he will be responsible for drawing up the product roadmap and for the positioning of product families among local authorities, in time management and in vertical solutions.
• At the financial level, he will be responsible for setting in place elements that generate added value and margins and ensuring a high level of profitability and a financial approach for the software editor activity.

With 700 experts, the Software Editor Division – France’s seventh largest software player (source: Pierre Audouin Consultants 2007) – generated sales of around €120 million in 2007, of which €95 million in France.

The Software Editor Division aims to become a key player in the sector by consolidating its strong positions in France and expanding internationally, notably in Southern Europe and Canada. This strategy is reflected in the group’s recent acquisition of Accovia in Canada, adding 130 staff and sales of €11 million to GFI Solution’s Canadian subsidiary.
