Jacques Tordjman, Chairman and CEO:
" These figures confirm and strengthen the sales momentum demonstrated by the group in 2005. The restructuring and investment carried out over the past few years have enabled us to take full advantage of the present upturn in the IT sector in France and abroad. I am confident this trend will continue throughout 2006. The integration of the Adelior and Actif groups is now effective and the margin of these units are improving according to plan. These units already contribute to our sales performances and the synergies expected when we acquired these groups have come into effect. "
Turnover analysis
Turnover growth in France (9.3%) is particularly strong in the telecommunication, banking and insurance, and public sectors. Turnover also grew significantly in West France and the Mediterranean regions. The investments made in the service centres over the past several years have paved the way for the present robust levels of growth. Turnover also benefited from the number of working days in the first quarter of 2006.
GFI Informatique recorded strong international growth, at 12.7%. The group's activities in Germany have returned to strong organic growth (29%) while the traditionally strong units (Spain, Portugal, Morocco and Canada) continued to perform well. The performance of our Italian subsidiary will be in line in the first half of the year with our turnaround objectives.
Other significant events
The group has successfully integrated the Adelior and Actif groups at operating level. Their operating performance is in line with our targets. The integration of the Adelior, Actif and GFI Informatique management teams enables us to step up the implementation and marketing of high added value products and services.
With the addition of the Adelior and Actif group, GFI Informatique now has a strong outsourcing activity (over 1,000 staff, 3 service centre in France and one in Spain) and a recognised know-how on electronic payment. The group will continue to reinforce these two activities.
Financial reporting calendar
The shareholder meeting will take place on the 31st May at 10:00am in the Centre de conferences Edouard VII, 23 square Edouard VII, 75009 Paris.
GFI Informatique will publish Q2 2006 turnover on 3 August 2006 after the market closes.
